Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings: Tim Tebow and Late-Game QBs to Bench

There are a few quarterbacks in the late games in Week 8 that won’t have solid fantasy football performances. Tarvaris Jackson, Colt McCoy and Tim Tebow should be benched in your league if you have other options, of course.

Here is why each player should be benched.

Tarvaris Jackson

Tarvaris Jackson is likely to start against the Cincinnati Bengals at home in Week 8. He hasn’t been awful this year, posting six touchdowns and five interceptions, but it hasn’t been a masterpiece.

Jackson gets a tough challenge with the Bengals defense. Cincinnati has one of the best defenses in the league, fifth against the rush and pass. The Bengals haven’t played a top-tier quarterback in the league, and they will get another chance to better their statistics in Seattle.

Colt McCoy

Colt McCoy has struggled with his accuracy all season long, and now he is going up against an underrated defense in San Francisco. McCoy is completed just 56 percent of his passes.

Against the Seahawks in their 6-3 victory, McCoy was 20-35 for 178 yards and an interception.

He has eight touchdowns and four interceptions in 2011 while throwing for 1,377 yards. After his dismal performance in Week 7, staying from McCoy makes sense. If he bounces back with a solid week then implementing him into your lineup in the future would be a better decision than trying him this week.

Tim Tebow

Whether you truly believe Tim Tebow is a starter in the NFL is irrelevant to fantasy football. I believe Tebow has what it takes to get victories in the league, and he may even show that against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. However, his first 55 minutes against the horrid Miami Dolphins defense has to concern people enough to not give him the start on Sunday.

Tebow may pull off the upset at home, but his fantasy numbers might not qualify for your fantasy squad.
