College Football Recruiting 2012: Predicting November's Biggest Commitments
November is here and we're moving forward in the 2012 recruiting cycle. Steady as she goes, we've seen a number of top tier players make their choices over the past few months.
A month before December, I'm going to try to predict who will be the next big names to come off the board.
Here are some of the biggest names that may be committed by the time Christmas lights start to go up.
4. Bryce Treggs, WR
1 of 4Treggs was committed to Cal for months this spring and summer, but downgraded himself to a soft verbal to the Bears. Notre Dame got in his ear and convinced him to take a trip to South Bend this past month.
Back from Irish headquarters, Treggs says he liked his Notre Dame, but then went on to say they're second place behind Cal. Arizona State is in the mix, but a trip to Berkeley is likely this month.
Look for Treggs to reaffirm his love for the boys in Berkeley.
3. Jordan Jenkins, DE/OLB
2 of 4Jenkins' recruiting vibe changes all the time. Sometimes it looks like Florida is the leader, then Alabama takes over, then Tennessee comes back, then Georgia and Auburn and so forth.
I would imagine Florida and Alabama are the two leaders, and Jenkins will be in Tuscaloosa this weekend for the mega-huge LSU game.
We all know how fantastic the atmosphere is for Tide home games, so rev that up by 10 for this week's game. I think the atmosphere could sway Jenkins into finally making a selection and pledging to 'Bama.
2. Keith Marshall, RB
3 of 4This may be a bit early to call, I know. But Marshall had a near perfect visit to UF a few weeks ago. He digs Charlie Weis and the potential early carries that await him in Gainesville.
Marshall has already visited Georgia, where he also had a great trip, and Notre Dame. I had Georgia winning Marshall over, but when you call a trip "a 9.9 out of 10," that's saying something.
Plus, Marshall is graduating early in all likelihood, so he will probably decide later this month or in December. Florida could be getting some good news around Thanksgiving.
1. Adolphus Washington, DE & Dwayne Stanford, WR
4 of 4The Taft (OH) teammates will announce their college selections on November 9th. Stanford is a big time WR that stands 6'4", 205 pounds. Ohio State, Arizona State, Alabama, FSU and LSU are just a few in the running for him.
But Washington is viewed as the top prospect in Ohio by most and the 6'5", 255 pound DE has Alabama, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Kentucky, Miami and more all after him.
I think they both announce for Ohio State.
