Why Ndamukong Suh Will Prove Whether or Not Tim Tebow Is Talented QB

Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and the Detroit Lions travel to Denver to take on the Broncos and second-year quarterback Tim Tebow on Sunday. Suh leads what is one of the best defensive lines in all of football, and the Lions are sure to pressure Tebow heavily throughout the game. It will be a chance for the young signal-caller to prove whether or not he can actually hang in the NFL.

Detroit has racked up 17 sacks this season, just four off the top number in the league. Led by Suh and defensive ends Kyle Vanden Bosch and Cliff Avril, the Lions have put a ton of pressure on opposing quarterbacks. Tebow is coming off his first start of the season, during which he was sacked a whopping seven times. Suh and company have to be licking their chops in anticipation of lighting Tebow up.

While the young quarterback led the Broncos to an improbable 18-15 overtime win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7, he actually looked awful for a significant chunk of the game. For about the first 55 minutes of the contest, Tebow looked out of rhythm, indecisive, off balance and over matched against the Dolphins. 

While he did put things together to pull out the win late, Tebow completed just 13 of 27 passes (48.1 percent) for 161 yards. Against the Lions, he will have to be a whole lot better to earn his team a win.

Suh and his buddies along the defensive line will give Tebow a lot to think about on Sunday, as they are sure to be in his face early and often. If the 24-year-old quarterback wilts under the pressure, we'll know exactly what kind of future he'll have in the league.

But if Tebow can stand up to Suh and the Lions and somehow survive and push his team to a win, he might actually have a future as a quarterback in this league. 

Tebowmania may be running wild in Denver, but Suh and his teammates have a great chance to shut down the celebration on Sunday.
