Fantasy Football Rankings Week 8: Miles Austin and Top 3 WRs Poised to Shine

Kyle SkovOct 30, 2011

Week 8 and the teams on bye week are going to kill many fantasy rosters. So, who is left and going to have a breakout week?

Well, there are many big-name receivers that have favorable matchups or are poised to breakout even against a strong opponent.

Here are three wide receivers ready to have performances to change your week.

Miles Austin

Austin and the Cowboys are squaring up against the Philadelphia Eagles. This matchup on paper does not look like a breakout game, but it will be.

The big reason for this is that his numbers have been down this season and it is only a matter of time until Austin has a breakout game.

He is a big-time receiver and the Eagles will try to contain him, but he is a key factor if the Cowboys are going to win today so he will put up unexpected numbers.

Calvin Johnson

Calvin Johnson is a touchdown-catching machine. Matthew Stafford and Johnson have some of the best, if not the best, chemistry between a quarterback and wide receiver.

Johnson is going up against the Broncos who have given up the sixth-most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

The key matchup this week is against Champ Bailey. He is the only one that will give Johnson a hard time and everyone else he will easily beat in the Broncos' poor secondary.

Marques Colston

Marques Colston is having a great season and he is going up against the St. Louis Rams who have given up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers this year.

This means Colston is going to have one of the best games this season and it is time to find a way to get him.

Colston will have a couple of touchdowns with 100-plus yards at minimum for this matchup.
