UFC 137 Results: Carlos Condit Steps Aside, Georges St-Pierre vs. Nick Diaz Next

Tim McTiernanOct 29, 2011

After Nick Diaz defeated BJ Penn at UFC 137 on Saturday night, he made it clear that he wanted to fight GSP in his post-fight interview.

It appears that he'll get what he desires, as Diaz has earned a shot at Georges St-Pierre and the welterweight title.

GSP was shown in the crowd, and he playfully acted as though he didn't care, much like Anderson Silva acted when called out by Chael Sonnen at UFC 136.

The only difference was GSP made it clear that he was none too pleased.

According to Dana, GSP said, "He's the most disrespectful human being I've ever met and I'm going to put the worst beating on him."

Strong words like that can mean one thing—that GSP could truly get a finish against Diaz.

Of course, Carlos Condit was originally in line for the next title fight, but according to Dana, Condit has agreed to step aside.

The UFC is targeting Super Bowl weekend for the GSP-Diaz matchup, and Condit has also requested to be on that card.

Dana said before the event that Carlos Condit would fight for the title next, but as has been made clear lately, No. 1 contender spots are not etched in stone.

Look for GSP-Diaz on February 4th in Las Vegas, Nevada, and stay tuned to Bleacher Report MMA for all your UFC 137 needs.
