Oklahoma vs. Kansas State Score: Sooners Throw Their Name Back in BCS Mix
Don't look now, but Oklahoma is right back in the BCS hunt.
A week after suffering an upset loss to Texas Tech, the Sooners bounced back in a huge way. They destroyed No. 8 Kansas State 58-17.
Oklahoma's Statement Win
The Sooners dominated this game in every way imaginable. They put up 690 yards of offense compared to Kansas State's 240.
Kansas State entered this game undefeated. They were one spot ahead of Oklahoma in the BCS polls at No. 8.
By destroying Kansas State, Oklahoma proved that they are still one of the elite teams in the nation.
Player of the Game: QB Landry Jones
Jones was amazing in this game as he took to the air early and often.
He finished 35-of-47 with 505 yards, five touchdowns and two interceptions. Jones probably won't be thrilled with the two picks, but given that he threw almost 50 times, that number is excusable.
Schedule
Outlook
This game will look fantastic in the voters' eyes. It will catapult Oklahoma to the top of the teams with one loss.
If Oklahoma wins out, they will get to play in a BCS bowl game, and they still have a solid shot at the BCS National Championship game.
They will need some help, though. LSU, Alabama, Stanford and Clemson are still in front and in the Sooners' way as undefeateds. Obviously, Oklahoma needs three of them to lose, and even at that they may have a hard time getting in front of a one-loss LSU or Alabama team.
