Clemson Tigers Have a Legit Shot of Being the Best of the BCS

Clemson may be the best team in college football right now. No, wait, let me rephrase that last sentence. Clemson right now, heading into tonight's game vs. Georgia Tech led by Tajh Boyd and Sammy Watkins, not only has the best offense in the NCAA but overall could beat any team in the BCS. 

Go ahead, put Clemson against LSU or Alabama, their defenses are good, but the Clemson offense could still put up 30-plus points. 

Let’s put Boyd and Watkins against Oklahoma State’s Brandon Weedon and Justin Blackmon—Clemson wins this battle of undefeated teams as well with the more talented quarterback/receiver tandem. 

The Stanford Cardinal would not be able to keep up with this offense, as Andrew Luck and the Cardinal do not have an offense that is as explosive as the Tigers.

Pretty much any of the unbeaten teams in college football would go down, if they would happen to play this Clemson team right now. 

It’s these reason why, this Clemson team will eventually be the last team that is unbeaten. 

If you take a look at the schedule for Clemson you’ll see that it once had two games remaining against ranked teams. However, now Georgia Tech has fallen out of the Top 25, Wake Forest was close to being ranked, but now have fallen. 

And, their toughest remaining game, at South Carolina, has lost some of its allure since South Carolina has lost it’s starting quarterback to suspension and running back to injury. Now, the South Carolina game may not even have the Gamecocks in the Top 25 when they play. 

But, if you do not believe me that Clemson will be the last team undefeated just by their remaining schedule, take a look at some of the other unbeaten’s and their schedules. 

For Alabama and LSU, come next week one of them will end up dropping from the ranks of the undefeated. However, if LSU wins, they still have to play a good Arkansas team. For Alabama, if they win over LSU next week, they still have to play Auburn in the "Iron Bowl." 

Stanford still has Oregon in a couple of weeks. Last year Oregon blew out Stanford, by running an offense that the Cardinal’s could not stop. 

Oklahoma State, as good as they are, still have to play their in-state rival Oklahoma. Ok. St, is a great team this year, but OU is a team that the Cowboys just cannot seem to beat. 

Houston and Boise State, the two teams that are undefeated but are not BCS recognized schools, will lose their first game during their respected bowl games. 

For Boise State, they will lose their first game, when these two teams play each other in the BCS championship game on Jan. 9. 

Clemson is this year’s Auburn Tigers. They started the season unranked, they came into the BCS standings under the radar and they will be the final undefeated team, just like Auburn was last year, when they held up the BCS title at the end of the year.
