Texas A&M vs. Missouri Score: Aggies Will Kiss Top 25 Goodbye with Ugly Loss
Texas A&M lost a close one to Missouri, but it was still an ugly enough performance that they will fall from the Top 25 and they will not return.
Profile of an Ugly Loss
Texas A&M was outdone by turnovers in this, as they had three of them. This doomed them despite the fact that they out-gained Missouri 500 yards to 482 yards.
Texas A&M crumbled late as they were outscored 14-3 in the fourth quarter. That forced the game into overtime.
In overtime, Missouri scored a touchdown to start things off and the Aggies were denied in their attempt to match the touchdown. Missouri won 38-31.
Recurring Theme
The amount of yards they allowed highlights the big fault with Texas A&M—they have been horrible on defense. Coming into this game they were ranked 54th in the nation in points allowed per game.
What may be even more troubling, is the Aggies' inability to hold on to a lead. In all three of their losses, they blew late leads.
What's Ahead for Texas A&M
The Aggies have four regular season games left. The next two are on the road vs. No. 9 Oklahoma and No. 8 Kansas State.
They will then finish out at home in games against Kansas and No. 24 Texas.
Conclusion
This loss is going to prove to be too much for voters to stomach. They will drop them from the Top 25. Texas A&M will not be able to return, either.
This team could very well be facing the reality of losing three of their next four. That would leave them at 6-6 for the season, and just barely sliding into a bowl game.
