Michael MillOct 29, 2011

This weekend's showdown between the NFC East rival Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles could very well dictate the outcome of the entire division this season.

Both the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles have gotten off to poor starts this season.

Dallas has fallen apart late in games on multiple occasions.

Philadelphia's dream team has quickly become a nightmare.

These two teams are possibly the most talented teams in the NFL with a .500 record or worse right now.

On Sunday Night Football we will find out which one will go on to win the NFC East. That's right, the winner of this game is going to take the NFC East.

The Cowboys are sitting at a 3-3 record. However, their three losses came to teams with a combined record of 14-5 and they lost those games by a total of just 11 points.

The Eagles are off to a disappointing 2-4 start. In all four of their losses, the Eagles blew a lead in the fourth quarter.

Both of these teams could easily be sitting at 6-0 right now. Take away one mistake, or one turnover, from each game and this would be a matchup between undefeated teams.

Both are extremely talented and very dangerous.

Although all eyes will be on the offenses, it will be the defenses that make the difference in this NFC East matchup.

The Dallas Cowboys have a new defensive life with Rob Ryan as coordinator. Ryan is known for his exotic blitz packages that confuse opposing quarterbacks. The Cowboys will need to force Mike Vick into making mistakes.

The Philadelphia Eagles struggled early in the year stopping the run with their new nine-wide technique on the defensive line. Before the bye week they played a more conventional scheme against the Redskins and showed huge improvement and success.

Both of these offenses have made mistakes. The one that makes the fewest will walk away with a win and will be the favorites in the close NFC East race.
