2012 NFL Mock Draft: Andrew Luck Leads QB Dominated 1st Round

Richard LangfordOct 29, 2011

Four QBs will go off the board in the first 15 picks in the 2012 NFL draft. And possibly the first ten depending on how the draft order shakes out.

This is all assuming that the next four decide to come out of school, which is certainly not a given. Of the following four only Andrew Luck is a senior.

Here is how I have the top four QBs going in my latest mock draft.

Andrew Luck No. 1 to the Colts

Assuming his arm doesn't fall off between now and the draft Luck is going No. 1 overall. There is zero question, concern or drama surrounding this pick.

If the Colts do pick first, they will either trade Luck, or trade Peyton Manning after Luck learns from him.

Matt Barkley No. 2 to the Dolphins

The second QB off the board will be anyone's guess, but it is not a guess to say the Dolphins will take a QB.

I believe Barkley will be the Dolphins' choice. Barkley has a big arm and his accuracy on the deep ball has greatly improved.

The Dolphins will see shades of Dan Marino.

Robert Griffin No. 8 to the Seahawks

Pete Carrol has opted for mobile QBs since taking over the Seahawks. He wants someone that can move the pocket.

Robert Griffin can do that and plenty more. Griffin's decision making and accuracy have his stock soaring. Depending on draft order he could end up the second QB taken.

Landry Jones No. 12 to the Chiefs

This would be an ideal situation for Jones and the Chiefs. He could learn and bulk up for a year under Matt Cassel and then take the reigns.

The Chiefs would jump all over Jones if here still available when they pick. He would give them the QB they thought they were getting when they signed Cassel.
