BCS Projections Week 10: Stanford and Teams with Most to Gain This Week
There are several top teams who have a lot at stake today in terms of the BCS rankings, including Stanford, Michigan State, Oklahoma, and Kansas State.
Many ranked teams play one another this week, and several BCS title dreams will be crushed, while some will be heightened as well.
Let's look at three teams with the most to gain this week in the BCS rankings.
1) Stanford
The Cardinal are currently No. 6 in the BCS standings just behind Clemson and Boise State, and a win against a talented Southern California team would help improve their resume.
Stanford must not look forward to their season-deciding matchup with Oregon in a few weeks because USC should not be taken lightly.
Andrew Luck is the best quarterback in the country and will have to lead his teammates to victory this week to help Stanford's BCS hopes and his own Heisman Trophy dreams.
2) Kansas State
Kansas State is 7-0 this season and have played very well in Big 12 conference play, including a solid win over Baylor.
The Oklahoma Sooners, who lost to Texas Tech last week, will be the Wildcats' toughest opponent by far this season.
The Sooners will be hungry to get back into the top 5, and a win for them would help their resume by giving them another win versus a ranked opponent.
If Kansas State wants to prove they are an elite team and a worthy BCS title contender, they have to beat Oklahoma on Saturday.
3) Nebraska
Nebraska faces a tough game on Saturday versus Michigan State, and a win would really help them climb back up the polls and BCS rankings after a loss to the Wisconsin Badgers a few weeks ago.
The Cornhuskers do not have a win over a ranked team yet this season, so a victory over the Spartans would really improve their BCS resume.
If Nebraska wants to win the Big 10 and have a shot at a BCS bowl, they must win on Saturday against Michigan State.
