Fantasy Football Rankings Week 8: Cam Newton and More QBs Who Will Shine
Week 7 was an ugly one for fantasy QBs, but things are looking up. This trio is set to put some big numbers on the scoreboard on Sunday.
Cam Newton, Carolina
Carolina has had as high-volume a passing offense as any team in the league, and that isn’t likely to change in Week 8. Newton will likely go deep early and often on Minnesota’s banged-up corners.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The Vikings are 29th in the NFL in pass defense, so Newton’s passes should have good results. If possible, he might even throw more often than usual, considering that Minnesota’s run defense is fourth-best in the league.
Drew Brees, New Orleans
It’s hard to imagine the Saints putting on another 62-point fireworks show, but ruling anything out against the Rams defense would be a mistake. St. Louis has lost essentially all its starting-caliber DBs to injury, leaving a unit that’s been getting torched by every QB it faces.
Home-field advantage won’t be much of a security blanket for the Rams, especially considering that the fast turf in the Edward Jones Dome will just make the fleet-footed Saints wideouts more dangerous.
The Saints are headed for another blowout win, and that can only be good news for Brees’ fantasy owners.
Joe Flacco, Baltimore
Joe Flacco (and indeed, the Baltimore offense) could scarcely have looked worse in Monday night’s loss to Jacksonville, so he may seem an odd choice to light things up this weekend.
Then again, he’s playing the Cardinals.
Arizona’s pass defense is ranked 28th in the league, just the cure for what ails an opposing QB. Add in an appreciably-superior Cards run defense—encouraging Flacco to keep airing it out—and you have a recipe for serious fantasy numbers.
