Tim Tebow: Tebowing Craze Lifts Him to Undeserving Heights

Let me get this straight, you can cause a national craze by simply throwing a couple completions and beefing out your biceps? Tim Tebow is some kind of wonderful according to every living human being on the planet. 

If you have been near this crazy thing we call the Internets lately, you may have noticed that Tim Tebow is getting some hype. Okay, that was a little understated even for me. He is getting more hype than if the Double Rainbow guy turned out to be LeBron James. 

The latest craze to sweep the nation is Tebowing. It makes planking look as revolutionary as the hula-hoop. All you need to Tebow is about a few seconds of time and one knee.

Here is a rundown of examples to get you started. 

That's it. You are now prepared for hours of fun that can be had with anyone who remotely knows who this guy is, which is everybody. 

Tim Tebow is the most polarizing athlete in the nation right now. You either get a sick feeling in your stomach when you hear his name, or you spark up with euphoric glee. Think about that for a second. 

Tebow, a player that has done nothing as an NFL player, is getting treatment usually relegated to super stars that deliver epic performances. 

Before I continue, let me stress that I am not hating on Tebow the man, or the player for that matter. He has done little to attract this kind of buzz. Tebow simply laces on his cleats, plays hard and reflects on one knee every now and again. 

What I do find unnerving is the hype that surrounds him. For this I blame you, America. That of course includes me, but let's focus on you for a second. 

I just got through watching a full week of SportsCenter. If I was an alien that came down to earth and witnessed all the coverage, I would believe that the Lions and Broncos game was of the utmost importance. 

I may fashion a guess that this might be a title game where the losing team would be slaughtered right after the match. This is how much Tebow's second start this season has been covered. 

It's frustrating when you consider that the Steelers and Patriots are playing on the same day. Seriously, I had to check the schedule to make sure. 

Instead, we will all be keyed in on how this middling quarterback fairs as his horrible team faces the Lions. And I hope to the heavens above that I get flack for calling the Broncos horrible, because maybe then we will be talking about something that matters. 

Tim Tebow has somehow managed to invigorate the nation by doing absolutely little. If he can bottle that magic, I would pay a hefty sum.
