Week 8 Start 'Em, Sit 'Em: Verdicts on DeMarco Murray, Colt McCoy, Reggie Bush

Gabe ZaldivarOct 28, 2011

I have the fantasy gavel and will soon give you the judgements you need to win the week. DeMarco Murray, Colt McCoy and Reggie Bush are the subjects we are about to tear apart and nitpick.

Sounds like fun.

When I have fantasy questions, I like to go to a quiet room in my house and ponder. I reflect for hours and then I come back and decide.

In all fairness, I decide only after noticing how obvious these choices are. I don't know how it didn't hit me in the face like a Tim Tebow poster before.

Well, now I have a whole mess of sense knocked into me this week. I can see the light and can justly tell you the future. Here are my verdicts for three intriguing fantasy players going into Week 8.

DeMarco Murray

Let's say Felix Jones was 100 percent and a lock to come back and play in Week 8—I would still think about starting DeMarco Murray. The dude is that good, and the Cowboys would be foolish not to get him touches.

Needless to say, you know how I feel now that Felix Jones is out of practice and questionable to play this weekend.

I now fully love starting Murray.

The Eagles couldn't tackle Emmitt Smith if he suited up right now. Murray will have another great day on Sunday.

Verdict: Start

Colt McCoy

The Browns QB has been the epitome of consistency for the entire season...until last weekend. That egg has me tapping the breaks on McCoy, even in deep leagues.

The San Francisco 49ers have a tough defense and McCoy will struggle as the running game is stifled.

With no versatility behind him, McCoy is guaranteed to have a bad day passing.

Verdict: Sit

Reggie Bush

Bush seems to be fine after suffering a neck injury. The bad news is that Daniel Thomas also seems to be doing well from his hamstring issue.

The former Saints back is a borderline fantasy player at this point. With him being banged up and possibly sharing touches, the call is easy.

Verdict: Sit
