Week 8 Fantasy Football Rankings: Who Are the Top 5 QBs?
In our Week 8 fantasy football rankings, these five quarterbacks should accumulate the most points:
1. Drew Brees, Saints
Brees is averaging over 350 yards per game, has thrown a touchdown pass in each of the Saints' seven games this season and is fresh off a five-touchdown game against the Colts last Sunday night. It doesn't really matter who Brees is facing this season. But did I mention that he'll be going up against one of the poorest defenses in the NFL this season? The Rams are the 30th-ranked fantasy defense against the pass and have given up the second most touchdown passes (13).

2. Cam Newton, Panthers
There have been some ups and downs to Newton's rookie season, but the highs far outweigh the lows in terms of fantasy value. When Newton's been good, he's been really, really good. His matchup against the Vikings points more towards the good side. Minnesota is the 26th-ranked fantasy defense against the pass and have allowed five touchdowns over the past two games.
3. Tom Brady, Patriots
Conventional wisdom would say Brady might struggle against the NFL's No. 1-ranked passing defense in the Steelers on Sunday. Not so fast. Brady is 6-1 against the Steelers during his career (including playoffs) and has posted good numbers. During the regular season, Brady has 12 touchdowns and a 104.1 passer rating in five games versus the Steelers. After a bye week, expect the Patriots to have a few wrinkles for Dick Lebeau's defense.
4. Matthew Stafford, Lions
The injuries are worrisome, but Stafford has practiced through this week and should be ready to go when the Lions take on the Broncos Sunday. If he's a go, Stafford should be able to post some big fantasy numbers. No fantasy defense has been worse against opposing quarterbacks than the Broncos. Anytime they've faced even an average quarterback, the fantasy points have followed. Slowed by injury or not, expect Stafford to beat up on the Broncos passing defense.
5. Michael Vick, Eagles
Forget about this guy? I wouldn't blame you if you did. The Eagles have lost four of six to start the season, and Vick has been as beat up as any quarterback in the NFL. However, Vick and the Eagles got a week to get healthy and ready for the Cowboys trip to Philadelphia this week. The matchup against the Dallas defense isn't pretty on paper, but Vick is due for one of those games that come out of nowhere. This could be one, as the Cowboys shut down the run but can be had through the air. I like Vick this week.
