NFL Week 8 Picks: Which Teams Will Win with Style?

Chris TrapassoOct 28, 2011

How exactly would you define winning in style in the NFL?

Would it be a win on the road against a divisional opponent, or maybe a victory against an intra-conference foe that's owned you for years?

How about maybe just getting a "W" with some swagger?

We get all of those this week...

Dallas Cowboys at Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are better than their 2-4 record, but I still don't have faith in their run defense. Philadelphia will be exploited by DeMarco Murray, who should receive a good deal of carries in this one.

Mike Vick and company will be able to move the ball with the big play against Rob Ryan's defense, but Dallas' defensive line will be the difference in this game.

Philadelphia's offensive line is shaky and DeMarcus Ware will be in the backfield all afternoon.

These teams are very evenly matched, but games are won in the trenches. I like the physicality of the Cowboys' front to win this battle.

New England Patriots at Pittsburgh Steelers

Tom Brady has a 6-1 record against the Steelers. His only loss came all the way back in 2004.

However, this matchup isn't a great one for the Patriots and that rarely happens.

The Steelers receivers will prove to be too much for New England's porous secondary.

I usually take Brady in shootouts, but his defense is too susceptible and the Steelers will be able to score at will.

Pittsburgh won't make late-game mistakes in this one.

Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers

This could be the most entertaining game of the week, largely because of Cam Newton and Adrian Peterson.

That is, in addition to the lack of defense on both teams.

Newton exudes swagger and I'd say Peterson does as well.

Peterson will have another monster game against one of the worst defenses in the league, while Newton will outshine fellow rookie quarterback Christian Ponder as he makes a variety of plays with his arm and legs.

At home, Cam puts up another huge fantasy day and leads the Panthers to their third win of the season.
