NFL Week 8 Picks: Indianapolis Colts and Hard Luck Teams That Will Finally Win

T.J. McaloonOct 28, 2011

Okay Colts fans, it’s been a long year. There has been a lot of losing, a lot of terrible football and a lot of camera shots of Peyton Manning in a Colts polo, rather than a jersey.

But, this week oh the skies will part, the dark clouds will vanish, the sun will come out as this week against the Titans, Curtis Painter will play mistake-free football and will lead this team to a victory over Tennessee.

But, this Colts team isn’t the only team this week that will find a much-needed victory.

There are two other teams that will finally get their first win in a long time.

These teams are long overdue for a victory and will play that winning football that is needed to be successful in this league.

Indianapolis Colts

The Colts, like I said, have been in a dark cloud for the first seven weeks of this season. But, this week they will right the ship against the Tennessee Titans, a team that was destroyed at home last week by the Houston Texans and is dealing with injuries, including one to their own best player in Andre Johnson.

The Colts have yet to play a full game this season. Plus, with last week’s horrible loss in New Orleans, the Colts will have the pride to go out and prove that last week was not a definition of this team.

As Colts’ owner Jim Irsay would tweet out, “Come on up for the rising Colts fans.”

Predicted score: Colts 20 - Titans 17

Minnesota is getting better every week. They played the defending Super Bowl champs, the Green Bay Packers, very tough last week at home. With, the play of rookie quarterback Christian Ponder and Adrian Peterson, the Vikings have an excellent chance at winning this week against the Carolina Panthers

The Vikings front line of defense will put a lot of pressure on Panthers’ QB Cam Newton, while forcing him to make bad throws. This could result in a lot of turnovers.

Predicted score: Vikings 27 - Panthers 24

Washington is dealing with a lot of injuries, as they head into their road game against Buffalo. The Bills is a good team this year, but also a team that has been struggling to defend the rush. The passing offense has been disappearing as well.

This week, with John Beck as the quarterback, not Rex Grossman, the ‘Skins will find a way to squeak out a victory on the road in Buffalo.

Predicted score: Redskins 17 - Buffalo 14

Three teams that all are on losing streaks will find a way to either get their first win or end a bad losing streak.
