Notre Dames Independence Is Ignorance

Norte Dame Independence

Norte dame is not in a football conference, that’s why they’re independent.  They have no conference.  They should join a conference in my opinion.  They are greedy by keeping all the money that they get by having tv companies broadcast their games. The fighting Irish football recently renewed a contract with NBC for four and a half million dollars.  There should b a rule that only conference champs can play for the title.  Some think that there should be an exception to norte dame, I disagree. “Although the other independents deserve the same treatment, Notre Dame is BY FAR AND AWAY the biggest college football team who is an independent” (Ferguson, n/a) .One; they are not an exception! Two; if they wur to become an exception army and other collages to be exceptions. Three; they would only become an exception to get money.  Four; other collages would catch on and everyone would become independent. five; this would destroy the intire football system.

If norte dame was to join the big ten, they would bump up the big 10 to 12 teams.  Having 12 teams in the big 10 means there would have a conference championship. This would make things more excticiting in the big ten and get the big ten more money.  By having big tv companys to air the game. And with 8 conference games they still could play Navy, Michiganand USC. Many thing Norte Dame belongs in the Big East, “Notre Dame football in the Big East? You're kidding, right? It's a dying league” (Dienhart, n/a) Nortre Dame does not belong in the Big East, if they do it wouldn’t benefit them at all. Joining the Big Ten would make the Big Ten the best conference in America. The Big Ten would demand huge amouts of money towards tv companys, putting money in the bank for the Big Ten.

 “Notre Dame football in all its glory is dead” (Moulton, n/a) Norte dame is garbage. Their average margin of defeat is twenty points. “Just keep sticking your chest out and saying, "We're Notre Dame" while playing those meaningless but highly profitable games on your own network, NBC.” (Moulton, n/a) this statement is completely true, their games mean nothing because there team blows and they collect the four and a half million from NBC for terrible at football. If I where Charlie Weis I would resign because there is no hope for the Fighting Irish,
