Suns Acquire Guard Jason Richardson From Bobcats

Tanner ThomsSenior Analyst IDecember 10, 2008

The Suns recently acquired shooting guard Jason Richardson from the Bobcats in exchange for guards Raja Bell and Sean Singletary and forward Boris Diaw. The Suns also receive Jared Dudley and a conditional second round pick.

On the year Richardson is averaging nearly 19 points and three assists per game. Bell on the year has averaged 9.6 points per game. Diaw has eight points to go with 3.8 rebounds per contest. Singletary is a 23-year old averaging 2.6 points a game. Jared Dudley has averaged 5.4 points and three rebounds per game.

Who wins the trade?

Phoenix easily wins this trade. Richardson is a knock-down shooter and is only 27 years old. Phoenix has yet another all-star caliber starter. They lose defense with Bell gone, but the offense will be unstoppable. Dudley will be a reserve and play time-to-time for Matt Barnes or Amare Stoudemire when they come out of the game.

Projected Phoenix line-up:
PG- Steve Nash
SG- Jason Richardson
SF- Matt Barnes
PF- Amare Stoudemire
C- Shaquille O'Neal

Terry Porter may have saved his job with this move.
