NFL Picks Week 8: Detroit Lions and More Teams That Will Get Much-Needed Wins

I realize that after this week, the season will only be halfway done for a couple of teams. However, the first six (or seven) games have done a lot to create separation in some of the divisions.

Other teams, like the ones listed below, all sit in good position to make the playoffs. Still, the last memories for every one of these teams was bad.

This week, they will come back and get the positive thoughts flowing in their locker rooms.

Detroit Lions

The Lions were the talk of the league after a 5-0 start. Now, things are not quite as positive in the Motor City. They are on a two-game losing streak. Both games were not only in Detroit, but against very possible playoff opponents.

Now, they get a little bit of a reprieve in a trip to Denver. The Broncos are coming off a win, but they needed a miracle to beat the winless Miami Dolphins.

The Broncos' weaknesses play right into the hands of the Lions' strengths. This one will get ugly. All will be well in Detroit for a week.

Baltimore Ravens

I am not too worried about the Monday night loss to the Jaguars. No, it should never have happened, but those kinds of losses aren't that rare over the course of an NFL season.

This week, the Ravens return to Baltimore for some home cooking. They also get the benefit of playing the turnover-prone Arizona Cardinals, who have only one win.

Other than Larry Fitzgerald, the Cardinals have absolutely no consistent offensive weapons. The Baltimore offense leaves a lot to be desired, but it won't need to be that good to win this game easily.

San Diego Chargers

The Chargers vs. the Chiefs is one of Week 8's most potentially intriguing games. The Chargers have just not been especially impressive this year, and the Chiefs are experiencing something of a resurgence after an 0-3 start.

Now, this is certainly the game I am least sure of, but I do see the Chargers coming away with a win here.

I know that they make mistakes, but this is the part of the season where they tend to turn it on and play much better. They will take a step in the right direction with a Monday night win in Kansas City.
