Colorado vs. Arizona State: Spread Info, Line, BCS Impact and Predictions

Andrew KulhaOct 27, 2011

The 5-2 Arizona State Sun Devils have been one of the most interesting teams in college football, and if it hadn't been for losses against very good Illinois and Oregon teams we would be talking about them much higher than No. 21 as the Colorado Buffaloes come into town.

Colorado on the other hand is having an abysmal season that is almost not worth mentioning. At 1-7 and 0-4 in the Pac-12 they are coming into this game hoping not to get blown out.

Last week they took an embarrassing home loss to the Ducks 45-2, so if they can avoid a complete annihilation I think that would be a win for their program.

Spread: Arizona State -31

The way Colorado has been playing this wouldn't be surprising.

Over/Under: 56

Not a huge fan of the over, considering the Buffaloes probably won't score much.

Key Injuries:

Colorado: Defensive back Ray Polk probable (concussion), defensive back Anthony Perkins probable (leg), wide receiver Jason Espinoza probable (concussion), defensive back Travis Sandersfeld probable (leg).

Arizona State: Offensive lineman Garth Gerhart probable (teeth), running back Cameron Marshall probable (ankle), defensive end Junior Onyeali probable (knee), tight end Trevor Kohl questionable (shoulder),

BCS/Top 25 Poll Implications:

At No. 21 this game is huge for the Sun Devils, and they cannot afford another loss.

Keys to Colorado Win:

Quarterback Tyler Hansen has to play the game of his life. He's literally going to have to lead his team on a scoring drive just about every time he touches the ball.

Keys to Arizona State Win:

Cameron Marshall is probable, and I think he'll see the field at least for the first half. Give him the ball and let him run it down the Buffaloes throats. Give him a few scores and then pull him out and let him rest. It's as simple as that for ASU.

Prediction:

There is no way ASU loses this game or even comes close:

Arizona State: 41 Colorado: 9
