UFC 137 Fight Card: 4 Reasons Why Diaz vs. Penn Will Live Up to the Hype

UFC 137 is almost here, and after many changes to the main event, we will finally get to see Nick Diaz return to the UFC to take on B.J. Penn. 

Both Diaz and Penn are two off MMA's most exciting fighters and both have been known for their antics inside and out of the Octagon. 

Although a championship fight may have been more exciting, Penn and Diaz are two guys who know how to bring it—this could end up being a better fight than what was originally advertised. 

Here are some reasons why this fight will not disappoint. 

Diaz Is an Exciting Fighter

Despite the things Diaz has done outside of the cage, inside he is one of the most exciting fighters in MMA today.

Diaz is willing to stand and trade with anyone, even if the person is supposed to be a better striker than him.

Diaz will even go as far as taunting his opponent right in the middle of a fight.

Penn Is Just as Exciting When Motivated

When B.J. Penn comes out to the Octagon talking to himself with a mean mug on his face, you know you’re about to see the former lightweight and welterweight champ give everything he’s got.

Penn’s usually never in a boring fight. 

Much like his opponent on Saturday, Penn is never one to shy away from a fight. 

Both Men Have Something to Prove

For Diaz, he has to prove he wants to fight in MMA.

He blew the chance of a lifetime by missing two press conferences.

He now must redeem himself in a fight against one of the best fighters in UFC history.

Penn has to prove he wants another title shot, which could mean another showdown with Georges St-Pierre.

Both Men Are Good Finishers

Both Penn and Diaz are known for finishing their fights.

Most of their wins have come by submission or knockout, and both men have good chins.

Because Penn and Diaz are good on their feet and on the ground, it will be interesting to see who gets the advantage first and how they try to end the fight.
