NFL Week 8 Picks: Why Chiefs Will Get Crucial Win Against Struggling Chargers

The Kansas City Chiefs will continue their winning streak on a Halloween edition of Monday Night Football this week, and will beat the struggling San Diego Chargers.

After starting the season 0-3 and losing their best offensive player in running back Jamaal Charles, the Chiefs have won three straight games. 

A fourth straight victory could put them in first place tie in the AFC West. 

The Chargers had a big chance to improve to 5-1 last Sunday, but they shot themselves in the foot against the New York Jets with multiple turnovers.

Now quarterback Philip Rivers must bounce back and beat the resurgent Chiefs. This task will not come easy for the Chargers, who will have to stop Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel, who is finally starting to play like a quarterback who deserves a $60 million contract.

Cassel will be able to throw the ball effectively against the Chargers defense that allowed Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez to play well against them last week.

Helping Cassel has been the reignited ground game, which running back Jackie Battle has made into a potent aspect of their offense.

Kansas City's defense has played well during their winning streak too, and shutout the explosive Oakland Raiders offense last week.

The Chiefs will win the battle against the Chargers on both sides of the ball Monday night, and will tie them in the AFC West standings.
