Kim Kardashian Wants NBA Lockout to End so Kris Humphries Will Go Away
And now for your daily Kim Kardashian-Kris Humphries marriage update. Not surprisingly, today's update involves a bit of drama.
By my count, Kim K and Humphries have been married for a little more than two months, but it sounds like things between them are already starting to get a little strained. At the core of the problem is Humphries' lack of something, anything to keep him occupied.
According to a report from the New York Post, Kim K really, really wants the NBA lockout to end so Humphries can go back to being a forward for the New Jersey Nets instead of a permanent fixture on the couch.
Here's the quote of the decade from an unnamed source, per Us Weekly:
"Kris is not drinking the Kardashian Kool-Aid. [Kim] told him he needs to do something productive. The work ethic in that family really means something. He needs to get off his (bleep), like, yesterday."
I don't care how hard you try, you're not going to tell a funnier joke than "The work ethic in that family really means something." First person that actually does tell a joke funnier than that gets a nice prize.
But I digress. The point is that Humphries simply isn't doing a whole heck of a lot during his temporary (?) unemployment. I'm pretty sure that this is not the first time a wife has made such a gripe about her husband, but this situation is a little different given the larger-than-your-life personalities involved.
One of the main problems at hand is that Kim K is supposedly giving Humphries an allowance, though his friends insist that Humphries has plenty of Benjamins to throw around.
Which I think is a little surprising. Humphries did, after all, spend $2 million on an engagement ring. That's no small sum considering he made just over $3 million in the 2010-2011 season, so it wouldn't surprise me if Kim K is indeed serving as Humphries' sugar mama.
Clearly, the only way this can be solved is if the NBA lockout lifts, which will allow Humphries to get off his duff and go back to being a middle-of-the-road forward. That's exactly what Kim K wants.
Well, she can get in line. The NBA lockout hasn't attracted as much outrage as the NFL lockout, but people might get a little more antsy if it's still going on after the World Series ends. There will be nothing to watch during the week except hockey and crummy college football games.
Also re-runs of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, if you're into that kind of thing.
If you're not, you just might be if the lockout extends much longer. Then you'll be that guy...
