Liga BBVA: Predictions for Round 10 Fixtures of La Liga

Mikhail TurnerOct 27, 2011

Round 10 of La Liga will be the end of a three-game week for all teams in the league. While Barcelona continues to struggle a little—though still getting the key points they need—Levante remains in the number one spot.

Here are the predictions for Round 10 of La Liga.

Valencia vs Getafe

Real Madrid CF v Girona FC - LaLiga EA Sports
Real Betis V Real Madrid - Laliga Ea Sports

Valencia is unbeaten so far at home and they continue to stay within touching distance of the league leaders. Getafe has only picked up one point so far away from home and may be lucky to get another this weekend.

Prediction: Valencia win 2-0

Villarreal vs Rayo Vallecano

Things went from bad to worse for Villarreal, as they will be without a key man in Guiseppe Rossi for some time. It won't get any easier against a Rayo Vallecano side that has been picking up the necessary points and is on a two-game win streak.

Prediction: Tie 1-1

Barcelona vs Mallorca

Not sure which Barcelona team will show up for this game, but good teams usually find a way to win. Mallorca has not done too well in away games, but with Barcelona keeping one eye on the midweek Champions league game, the team may feel it can steal a point.

Prediction: Barcelona win 3-1

Real Sociedad vs Real Madrid

Real Sociedad are not in an enviable position, as they have to face the first and second sides in the table in back-to-back contests.

Real Madrid is in some great form at the moment, and a squad with such depth should have no problem keeping up the wins and keeping players happy.

Prediction: Real Madrid win 4-1

Sporting Gijon vs Athletic Bilbao

After an incredibly poor start to the season, Sporting Gijon has won two games in a row to get out of the relegation zone.

Athletic Bilbao is another team that has suffered a poor start but have righted the ship somewhat. This game will be a very interesting one.

Prediction: Athletic Bilbao win 2-1

Osasuna vs Levante

Osasuna is another team that is unbeaten at home, but Levante is unbeaten overall. After surviving a close game in the middle of the week, it looks like Levante's luck may be running out.

Osasuna will certainly be a tough match at home, but Levante has a very solid defensive record and has scored the third most goals in the league.

Prediction: Levante win 1-0

Racing Santander vs Real Betis

Racing Santander is surprisingly out of last place, though they have yet to record a win. Real Betis continued its descent down the league table with their fifth straight loss.

Both teams really need a win to regain some confidence.

Prediction: Tie 2-2

Atletico Madrid vs Zaragoza

Atletico Madrid is still in a disappointing position in the league and need to turn things around soon. A home game against a Zaragoza side with a very poor defensive record may be just what they need.

Prediction: Atletico Madrid win 2-0

Malaga vs Espanyol

Malaga has now lost four straight and are in desperate need of a positive result. The season may be long, but if the team wants to challenge as expected, good performances are necessary.

Espanyol is currently on a three-game win streak and is in familiar territory in the league. Confidence will be a key factor in this game, though being at home may just help Malaga get something positive out of the game.

Prediction: Tie 1-1

Sevilla vs Granada CF

Sevilla is still unbeaten in the league and will fancy themselves against any side at the moment. Granada CF is at the bottom of the league, and despite a tough performance against Barcelona, the two red cards in that game will certainly hurt the team.

Prediction: Sevilla 2-0
