Week 8 Waiver Wire: Pierre Thomas and RBs Sure to Save Your Team During Bye Week

T.J. McaloonOct 27, 2011

The bye week hurts every fantasy football owner in one way or another. This week, there are a lot of great running backs that are on their bye week. Players like Bears’ Matt Forte, Falcons’ Michael Turner and Raiders’ Darren McFadden, are all missing action this week.

So with these big names on bye week, you will have to find a way to fill in these holes.

Well, fear not, fantasy owner; here are three options at running back that you should add to fill in those holes.

Pierre Thomas, New Orleans

Thomas, had the starting job when this season started, but was pushed to the background when Darren Sproles became the lead running back during passing downs, while rookie Mark Ingram took over as the goal line back and on running downs.

But last week, Ingram left the game with a heel injury and is doubtful for this week’s game against the Rams.

This is a Rams team that gave up 250-plus yards to Cowboys rookie, DeMarco Murray last week.

So, if Ingram is out this week, Thomas is a must own going against this horrible Rams defense.

Bernard Scott, Cincinnati

Scott has played well when he has gotten a chance to play last year. However, this year, he has seen time very sparingly, as starter Cedric Benson, is having a very good year.

This week, Benson is suspended from his off the field altercation he had in Austin, Tex., and Scott will get the start for Cincinnati in Seattle.

Seattle, has a good defense, but in this game, they will be trying to eliminate the Bengals passing offense, leaving a lot of holes for Scott to rush through.

He should be available in a lot of leagues, and will get the majority of carries for Cincinnati this week.

Give Benard a spot on your roster, then dump him after the game.

DeMarco Murray, Dallas

Murray is the hottest player to add in fantasy football. He should get the start this week against a horrible Eagles defense, as Felix Jones is still hurt, and Tashard Choice got left in Murray’s dust last week.

Will he get 250-plus yards this week against the Eagles, no.

But, he will have a nice day with 100-125 yards rushing and a touchdown, which will be serviceable for a start on your team during a bye week.

Three running backs that you should pick up right now. They will get the start on their teams and will have a very productive day for you.
