NFL Week 8 Picks: Cincinnati Bengals and Teams Who'll Jump to Top of Division

Kyle VassaloOct 27, 2011

It's hard to believe that the Cincinnati Bengals are going to be tied for first in the AFC North going into Week 9, but with the Steelers squaring off against the Patriots and the Bengals taking on the Seahawks, the Bengals are guaranteed to pick up a game in the division race this week.

They aren't the only team who will rise in the standings with a win this week. Here are three teams who will jump to the top of their divisions in Week 8.

The San Diego Chargers narrowly escaped the Chiefs the first time they played, but this is a different Chiefs team, and the Chargers have to go into Arrowhead on Monday Night.

The Chiefs have won three in a row and have resurrected their run game behind Jackie Battle. The Chargers allow 121.7 rushing YPG and though they have a shutdown pass defense, Matt Cassel put Philip Rivers to shame the last time they faced each other, throwing two touchdowns and a pick compared to Rivers' no touchdowns and two interceptions.

The Chiefs mopped up the Raiders last week and the Chargers are finally moving past their soft schedule and into games they're actually going to have to compete in to win.

Cincinnati Bengals

The Bengals were one of the favorites in the "Suck for Luck" race before the season started. Rookie quarterback Andy Dalton has shocked everyone and put together four wins, which is more than most thought they would accumulate through the entire season.

The Bengals have the No. 2 defense in the league and the Seahawks have the second-worst offense in the league.

This is a mismatch, even with the 12th man at Qwest Field at the Seahawks' back.

The Titans square off against the Colts, who are coming off of a devastating and season-defining 62-7 loss to the Saints. The question isn't whether or not the Titans will win, it's whether or not the division-leading Texans will fall.

The Texans and Jaguars are set to battle in what is sure to be a defensive struggle between two top 10 defenses. The Jags have the sixth-ranked pass defense in the league and this contest will come down to the run game.

Like last week, Maurice Jones-Drew is up against a tough run defense and there is a top-notch back on the other sideline. Just like every other game, MoJo is going to rack up at least 80 yards on the ground and the Arian Foster rollercoaster ride will dip again this week.
