BiBi Jones T-Shirt Gives Rob Gronkowski Supporters a Common Uniform

Zachary D. RymerOct 27, 2011

Let's be honest here. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski was not that out of line when he posed for a picture with porn star BiBi Jones. The resulting image could have been much, much more damning than the one that hit the Internet a couple days ago.

If you ask me, the phrase "victimless crime" is oddly fitting. As it is, Gronkowski's only real crime was that he gave the media something to talk about.

I'm going to assume that's what Gronkowski apologized to Pats owner Robert Kraft for (see ESPNBoston.com report). Sure, it was a matter of Gronkowski messing with the team's reputation, but this whole thing seems to be more of a matter of Gronkowski simply bringing unnecessary attention to the team.

If the Pats think it's bad now, just wait until they see people walking around in this t-shirt:

It's a beaut, ain't it?

It sure is. It comes from BarStoolSports.com, and it is quite real. You can buy it and everything. Presumably, you can wear it, too.

Rest assured, people are going to be purchasing this t-shirt. I would say that Gronkowski had to have at least doubled his fanbase with the BiBi Jones picture, and a "Gronk Nation" t-shirt is a fine way for people to show their support.

We saw something similar here in the Bay Area after San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum was cited for marijuana possession in 2009. That incident resulted in one of the best fan t-shirts ever:

Two years later, this shirt is still a common sight during Giants games at AT&T Park, and probably always will be as long as Lincecum is a member of the Giants.

We could very well see a similar phenomenon with this "Gronk Nation" shirt. It's a good way for individuals to broadcast their support of Gronkowski. Essentially, it is also an homage to the two things Americans love more than anything else.

Sports and porn. Combine the two, and you get Spornts.

You also get this t-shirt. Once again, it's a beaut.
