Week 8 Waiver Wire: Bernard Scott and the 3 Players To Add

Chris TrapassoOct 26, 2011

I love scouring the waiver wire in my fantasy leagues, finding that diamond in the rough and watching him put up big numbers that week.

Makes me feel like I'm doing my job as the team's owner.

Who are the best pickups this week?

Let's start with the Bengals...

Bernard Scott

Cedric Benson serves his one-game suspension this week, so Scott is promoted to the starting role. What more could you want for a free-agent running back than the full workload?

Scott should receive between 15 and 20 touches against a respectable Seahawks run defense, but he should be involved in the screen game as well.

Seattle is allowing nearly 15 fantasy points per game to opposing running backs, so this one-week option could be in for a solid game.

Jabar Gaffney

With Santana Moss and Chris Cooley out of the lineup, who's John Beck's next option?

Probably Jabar Gaffney.

The Bills have one of the most susceptible passing defenses in the league and in order for Washington to stick with Buffalo's potent offense, they'll have to throw the ball often.

Because Moss is to be about for more than a month, Gaffney is a long-term option if you're desperate at the WR No. 3 spot.

Heath Miller

With all the young, explosive tight ends in the league today, it's likely Miller was overlooked in your league.

He has scored in two of the last three games and faces the Patriots horrid pass defense this week at home.

Because the Patriots aren't a great pass-rushing team, Miller will be sent out on more seam routes and should be used as a red-zone target against New England's linebackers.
