NFL Picks Week 8: New York Giants and More Big Favorites That Will Cover Spread
There's an inordinate number of big spreads in Week 8. Whether it's because the oddsmakers are getting a better read on the teams or just a one-sided week of games, it's rare to see so many double-digit favorites. So the question becomes, which ones will cover?
Baltimore Ravens (-13)
Baltimore's offense was shockingly terrible against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football. Ray Rice, who had totaled at least 96 yards in every game beforehand, didn't even reach 65 and Joe Flacco couldn't pick up the slack with a dreadful 3.6 yards-per-attempt ratio.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The good news is that the Ravens bounced back in a big way after their first loss to beat the Rams by 30. They get an equally weak Cardinals squad this time around and should be looking to reassert their dominance with a blowout win.
Prediction: Ravens by 20
San Francisco 49ers (-9)
While it's still too early to determine if the 49ers have staying power, there's no denying how impressive their performances have been so far. Frank Gore is in elite form, Alex Smith has made big strides under Jim Harbaugh and they have the most underrated defense in football.
San Francisco should be fresh coming off a bye week while the Cleveland Browns lost a snooze fest to Seattle in Week 7. The only thing that could stop the 49ers from destroying Cleveland would be complacency, which Harbaugh has been preaching against all week.
Prediction: 49ers by 13
New York Giants (-10)
Like San Francisco, the Giants enjoyed a bye last week following a solid victory over the Buffalo Bills. Eli Manning has done a great job limiting his turnovers, with four of his seven coming in one game, and in that game he still had a quarterback rating above 90.
New York plays the Miami Dolphins this week, who are losing by an average of more than nine points per week and just suffered a crushing loss to the Denver Broncos. With Matt Moore under center and a shaky secondary trying to contain the Giants passing game, it's hard to imagine Miami keeping it close.
Prediction: Giants by 17
