Week 8 Waiver Wire: DeMarco Murray and Others Who Can Carry Your Team This Week

Richard LangfordOct 26, 2011

DeMarco Murray is going to have his second straight huge week. He is not the only player available on waiver wires that is set to explode this week either. Check out the following three players that will put up big numbers:

Dallas Cowboys RB DeMarco Murray

Murray caught everyone's attention last week by rushing for over 250 yards and a touchdown in his start for an injured Felix Jones. Murray will likely start again this week, and while it would be foolish to expect production anywhere near that total, he should still have an excellent day.

Murray will be going up against an Eagles' defense that has been horrible against the run. Murray should get plenty of touches in this one, and as a result he should have plenty of production.

Minnesota Vikings TE Visanthe Shiancoe

Shiancoe displayed instant chemistry with rookie QB Christian Ponder. Last week he had four catches for 45 yards and one touchdown.

It is clear that Shiancoe is a nice security blanket for Ponder. I expect him to be that and then some this week.

The Vikings are facing a Panthers team that Football Outsiders ranks 31st stopping opposing TEs.

Washington Redskins RB Ryan Torain

With Tim Hightower done for the year the starting RB job in Washington is Ryan Torain's to lose. He will still be sharing carries with Roy Helu, but you can expect Torain to get the majority of the carries this week.

That is good news for Torain as the Redskins are taking on a Buffalo team that is giving up yards left and right. The Bills are 30th in both passing and rushing yards allowed per contest.

And you can expect the Redskins to do as much damage on the ground as possible rather than put the game in John Beck's hands.
