New England Patriots: TE Rob Gronkowski and Bibi Jones Post Private Pics Online

Twitter is the most dangerous weapon an athlete can use.

Nearly every day, a famous athlete has to retract a controversial or ill-advised tweet.

We've heard many excuses—a player's account has been hacked, or someone else is responsible.

That’s why I give New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski some credit.

Gronkowski posed for a few pictures with adult film star Bibi Jones, who wore his Patriots jersey.

Then, the two decided it would be a good idea to post the pictures on Jones' Twitter account.

Now people are up in arms over the way the Pats starting tight end spent his bye week.

Gronkowski quickly released a statement backing away from the picture:

I didn't send anything to hurt the reputation of anyone on the New England Patriots or on behalf of [owner] Robert Kraft. That's all, just a simple picture, that's all. From here on out, I'm just here to talk about the Pittsburgh Steelers and the big game this weekend.

"

This story is completely harmless, and I’m sure Bill Belichick will have some fun with it. Tom Brady has said he’s happy that the attention will finally shift away from his long, flowing hair.

What’s classic is Jones’ response:

He was cool with it because I have more Twitter followers than him and he wanted me to get him more Twitter followers.

"

Let that be a lesson to people everywhere: If you want more Twitter followers, just get a porn star to tweet a picture of you.

Gronkowski has a super-sized personality and is enjoying the benefits of being a star in the NFL.

Next time you’re hanging out with a girl like that…just make sure to keep it off the Internet.
