NFL Week 8 Picks: Predicting Each and Every Game Against the Spread
It’s that time again to predict every NFL game against the spread.
In the Week 8 edition of my picks column, I really like favorites and road teams because of the matchups.
These are based on the Wednesday morning lines that you can find over at ScoresAndOdds, and as always, they are subject to movement, and lots of it.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Take a look at some of my picks and consider them when placing your wagers on the NFL games this week.
Tennessee Titans (-9) vs. Indianapolis Colts
Is there a team worse in the NFL than the Indianapolis Colts led by Curtis Painter?
I personally don’t think so, although Miami and St. Louis are making a serious run at it.
The Saints, in primetime, just destroyed the Colts, and I expect them to lose a quiet one to a reeling Tennessee team by at least two touchdowns.
Houston Texans (-9.5) vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars are on the heels of a massive upset of the Baltimore Ravens.
I still don’t think they have the momentum to knock off a divisional opponent as hungry as the Houston Texans are.
Houston eviscerated their last divisional opponent, who is arguably much more sound than Jacksonville, the Tennessee Titans.
Carolina Panthers (-3.5) vs. Minnesota Vikings
I won’t trust an inexperienced Christian Ponder on the road.
Ponder will be making his first road start, and that never usually goes well for rookie QBs.
Newton and the Panthers will win and cover easily at home just like last week.
New Orleans Saints (-13) at St. Louis Rams
If the Cowboys won by 27 last week against this Rams team, the Saints won’t have a problem covering a shade under two touchdowns.
Drew Brees and his squad are motivated after losing to the Buccaneers two weeks ago and took it out on the Colts Sunday night.
Expect them to continue their scoring rampage this week.
Arizona Cardinals (+13) at Baltimore Ravens
Baltimore is coming off a heart breaking loss to the Jaguars and seems to be lost offensively.
The Cardinals could capitalize and get a cover here with nearly a two-touchdown spread.
I don’t think they’ll outright win, but I think they keep this within a touchdown.
New York Giants (-10) vs. Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins are terrible. They lost in overtime to a Broncos team that was led by Tim Tebow, making his first start this season.
New York is coming off a big win against the upstart Buffalo Bills and have had plenty of time to rest and recover during the bye.
I expect them to win this big against one of the worst teams in football.
Buffalo Bills (-6) vs. Washington Redskins
Buffalo is a good team, and I don’t see Fred Jackson and Ryan Fitzpatrick failing against the Redskins.
Washington has lost some heartbreakers, but the Panthers, who I would consider a lesser-skilled squad than this Bills team, really owned them.
Look for the Bills to win this by seven.
Detroit Lions (-3) at Denver Broncos
This all depends on if Matthew Stafford plays.
Without Stafford, the Lions will lose and not cover and with him; they cover this by at least 10 points.
Don’t bet this until his status is known.
New England Patriots (-3) at Pittsburgh Steelers
Patriots -3 is the lock of the week.
I can’t even figure out how this started at -1.5.
Brady and his electric offense never have a problem with the Steelers, and they are going to make Pittsburgh show its age on defense.
Cleveland Browns (+9.5) at San Francisco 49ers
I don’t like this game at all.
This could either be a San Francisco blowout or a very tightly contested game that is low scoring.
If you think it will be the latter, like me, then the Browns getting 9.5 is the play.
Seattle Seahawks (+3) vs. Cincinnati Bengals
Cincinnati will be without Cedric Benson, and Seattle, for all their faults on offense, isn’t really too bad on defense.
Take the points at home when in doubt.
Dallas Cowboys (+3.5) at Philadelphia Eagles
I love the Cowboys getting points here.
The Eagles are the most overrated team in football and barely beat the Washington Redskins going into the bye.
San Diego Chargers (-3.5) at Kansas City Chiefs
Chargers will crush the Chiefs after playing them close last time.
San Diego understands how to beat them now and will win big.
