NFL Power Rankings: Washington Redskins and More Teams in a Free Fall

Michael DixonOct 26, 2011

It's hard to believe this, but the NFL season is nearly half way done. Still, the Power Rankings polls are changing every week and will continue to change.

At this point, they are not even close to being predictions for what will happen this season. Power Rankings are only based on what we've seen thus far.

But these teams are all in the middle of a fall and they won't be getting in the right direction anytime soon.

At best, these teams will stay where they're at this season. That's just not going to get it done.

Washington Redskins

Washington has dropped three of their last four games, only beating the lowly Rams by a single touchdown in that stretch.

Losses to the Eagles and Panthers have really sent the 'Skins spiraling down.

Now, they have a road game against the Bills and a home game against the 49ers who have already won three times in the Eastern Time Zone.

If they can get through that stretch at 1-1 or better, their playoff chances are still alive, although still not very good.

But honestly, their fall is only beginning. The Bills and 49ers are just as tough (if not tougher) than the teams that have beaten the Redskins thus far.

Tennessee Titans

The Titans do get a reprieve this week in the form of a home game against the winless Colts. But they have dropped a lot since their 3-1 start and don't look to be getting any better.

The remainder of Tennessee's schedule is tough. Anything more than about 6-10 this season would be a pretty solid accomplishment.

Don't expect them to be any higher than the mid-20's from here on out.

Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks haven't been awful this year, just inconsistent. However, their next three game stretch will bury any faint playoff hopes that exist in Seattle.

The Bengals and Ravens come to Seattle. In between those weeks, they make a trip to Dallas. If you can figure out how they will do anything better than 1-2 in that stretch, please let me know.

Right now, they are at No. 27. Don't expect to see them significantly better any time soon.
