2012 NFL Draft: Andrew Luck Leads Stellar QB Class Loaded with 1st Round Talent
The first round of the 2012 NFL Draft is going to be loaded with potential franchise QBs. Depending on who decides to come out this year, there are currently four QBs that are first round locks.
Here is a review of those four:
Andrew Luck, QB, Stanford
There is very little to be said about Luck that hasn't already been said. He is one of the best pro prospects that college football has ever seen from the QB position.
Barring a horrible injury, Luck is going to be the No. 1 overall pick, and the fans of the team that lands him will start making future Super Bowl plans.
Matt Barkley, QB, USC
Matt Barkley has always had the physical tools. He is big, strong and has a great arm. The question marks surrounding him this season revolved around his accuracy and decision making.
He has improved greatly in each category.
He is completing nearly 70 percent of his passes, and he has just four interceptions. If he decides to enter the draft this year, he will likely be a top 10 pick.
Landry Jones, QB, Oklahoma
Landry Jones has shown off his arm and pocket presence this season. He has the size that scouts love, and his decision making is improving by leaps and bounds.
Depending on the team drafting, he could be the second QB off the board, or he might go after Barkley.
Either way, Jones will likely be a top ten selection, and won't last past No. 15.
Robert Griffin III, QB, Baylor
Griffin's stock has exploded this season. He has been putting up unbelievable numbers on a consistent basis. His decision making is second to none.
He is also the most athletic QB on this list. This helps him overcome a lack of ideal height at 6'2".
If Griffin comes out this year, I wouldn't expect him to be on the board past No. 20. However, he may decide to return and make a run at being No. 1 overall in 2013.
