Virginia vs. Miami: TV Schedule, Live Streaming, Radio, Game Time and More

Andrew KulhaOct 25, 2011

This upcoming matchup between the Virginia Cavaliers and the Miami Hurricanes may be one of the best games between two unranked teams that you could have the pleasure of watching this week.

The 4-3 Hurricanes are arguably one of the hottest teams in college football right now. Expectations were huge for them coming into this year, but they obviously couldn't live up to them. That being said, they have become somewhat of an upset special with huge wins over ranked Ohio State and Georgia Tech that really exposed both programs.

Virginia is also pretty hot right now, even though they are coming in at 4-3. They also beat Georgia Tech and looked to have a ton of momentum going into their matchup with North Carolina State, but they lost that game 28-14.

Key Storyline

Can Miami keep up their hot play and perhaps start getting themselves back into the Top 25 discussion?

Who Might Not Play for Virginia: Long snapper Michael Terrell questionable (lower body), wide receiver Bobby Smith questionable (lower body), linebacker Henry Coley questionable (lower body), wide receiver Matt Snyder out indefinitely (foot), wide receiver E.J. Scott out indefinitely (throat).

Who Might Not Play for Miami: Defensive lineman Adewale Ojomo questionable (undisclosed), defensive lineman Marcus Robinson questionable (undisclosed), defensive back Brandon McGee questionable (arm), wide receiver Rashawn Scott questionable (upper body), defensive lineman Shayon Green questionable (knee), defensive linebacker Luther Robinson questionable (lower body), defensive lineman Micanor Regis (suspension).

BCS/Top 25 Implications

Both of these teams have to feel they have what it takes to be in the Top 25. Miami may have the best shot with a win here, especially after beating Georgia Tech.

What They're Saying: David Teel of dailypress.com writes about how hard it has been to get fans to come to ACC games, and Virginia is having the toughest time out of all the schools.

Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald writes about linebacker Sean Spence, who was awarded his third ACC Linebacker of the Week Award.

Virginia Player to Watch

The running game is going to be huge in this matchup, especially if Virginia wants to keep Miami's offense off the field. Perry Jones is going to have to really step up and be a force running the ball for the Cavaliers.

Miami Player to Watch

Jacory Harris is making somewhat of a mini-comeback after a very rough start to the year. I expect him to play very well in this game.

Key Matchup

If Virginia can get their running game going, I think they will have a great chance to control the tempo of the game and keep Miami off the field offensively. Watch how they utilize the run, or if they go away from it.

On the Hotseat

This Virginia team is firmly on the hotseat as a whole. After beating Georgia Tech, it looked like they would be able to make something of their season, but their loss the next week to North Carolina State all but ruined that idea.

Prediction

I'm really liking what I see from Miami right now, and they have the home field.

Miami: 31 Virginia: 20
