Week 8 Waiver Wire: Why Fantasy Owners Must Avoid Tim Tebow
I know Tim Tebow led the Denver Broncos to a comeback win on Sunday and I know "Tebowmania" is at an all-time high, but that doesn't mean fantasy owners should even think for a second that the second-year quarterback is worth a pickup in any league.
Tebow was so horrendous for the first 55 minutes of his first start of the season on Sunday that any thoughts of him becoming an effective fantasy quarterback should be forgotten immediately.
During his Week 7 start against a horrible Miami Dolphins team, Tebow completed 13 of 27 passes (48.1 percent) for 161 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed eight times for 65 yards. Aside from the two scores, those passing numbers are pretty awful. The Florida product was also sacked a ridiculous seven times by the Dolphins.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In Week 8 he will face a Detroit Lions team that is ninth in the NFL in passing yards allowed (204.6 per game) and boasts one of the best defensive lines in all of football. If you were thinking of adding Tebow this week, don't.
Another reason to avoid the 2007 Heisman Trophy winner is the fact that his receiving corps is depleted now that Brandon Lloyd has been traded to the St. Louis Rams. While Eric Decker and Demaryius Thomas will likely develop into solid targets in the future, I don't trust them yet as full-time contributors. In addition to that, Eddie Royal only had two catches for 14 yards in his debut as Denver's top target.
Tebow isn't worth a pickup yet, and he may never be a solid fantasy player. Even if he leads the Broncos to wins, that probably won't help your fantasy team, especially not this season.
