Week 8 Start 'Em, 'Sit Em: Tim Tebow and 3 QBs You Must Bench

John RozumOct 25, 2011

It's never easy deciding on which QBs to start if you have two that are expected to virtually perform the same. Being on the fence with a decision is tough, so use this as an external resource to help with your choice.

That being said, here are three QBs you must bench for Week 8 in fantasy football.

Tim Tebow, Broncos (vs Lions)

The Lions may have a susceptible rush defense, but they're still a whole lot better than the Miami Dolphins. Sure it was a good start for Tim Tebow, but don't expect the same late-game performance this week.

For starters, Detroit has a solid pass defense, and with Denver's lack of weapons, expect them to run the ball a lot more. In addition, Tebow won't have as much time to throw because of Detroit's pass rush.

If Tim is you're No. 1 QB, bench him and try to pick up someone with a more favorable matchup. Not to mention the Lions' explosive offense, because is Denver's good enough to keep up? No.

Michael Vick, Eagles (vs Cowboys)

This game will be the deal breaker for the Philadelphia Eagles. But, regardless of whether they win or lose, Mike Vick isn't going to hit his projections.

The Eagles still have a lot of proving to do, and the Cowboys have a stud defense. They're No. 1 in stopping the run and it takes a lot of pressure off the secondary.

Cowboys pass rusher DeMarcus Ware is arguably the best in the biz, so don't expect Vick to have all day to throw, nor will he be able to buy as much time with his feet.

Also, the Dallas offense is much healthier and confident, They're expected to shred Philly's underachieving defense. All that said, Dallas has the better defense, the greater confidence, a healthier offense, and isn't playing under nearly as much pressure.

Ryan Fitzpatrick, Bills (vs Redskins)

If there's one thing the Washington Redskins have done well in 2011, it's play defense. Unfortunately, their offense is so poor that they've been forced to carry the team. However, that doesn't mean Week 8 will be a cakewalk for the Bills' offense.

QB Ryan Fitzpatrick hasn't played nearly as consistent of late as he did early in the year, plus, Buffalo is relying more on RB Fred Jackson and their No. 4 ranked rushing offense.

Make no mistake about it, the Bills will have offensive success against the Redskins, it just won't be through the air. Washington has an outstanding pass rush will Brian Orakpo and rookie Ryan Kerrigan, so whenever Fitz drops back, time will be of the essence.

For Buffalo to win, ground and pound is the answer, so bench Fitzpatrick because his green light will be limited on Sunday.
