Vitor Belfort and 5 Fighters Who Would Love to Face Chael Sonnen
Over the past several years, the UFC hasn't had a more talked about name than Chael Sonnen.
Uncle Chael is overly recognized for calling out the world's greatest fighter in Anderson Silva.
Sonnen's gone to Twitter, post-fight interviews, and even national television to share exactly how he feels about Silva.
But, Silva's not the only fighter Sonnen's called out, and Sonnen's outspokenness has caused many fighters to despise of him and formed a desire to fight him.
The following slides display the five fighters who would love to fight Uncle Chael.
Let's take a look.
Vitor Belfort
1 of 5Oh boy, Chael's fanbase continues to grow; this time it's Vitor Belfort.
According to MMA Mania, Belfort wasn't very happy regarding Sonnen's comments about Brazil.
And, as expected, Sonnen fired back via Twitter, stating:
""Hey Vitor, take my name out of your mouth until you show up for half as many fights as you pull out of. You keep using the phrase, "pound him out." I don't think it means what you think it means, but you're a dead man either way."
"
Chael Sonnen vs. Vitor Belfort? Who wins?
Wanderlei Silva
2 of 5Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva have been going at it since the day Sonnen created a Twitter account.
Sonnen, known for taking personal shots, took one at Silva when he stated:
""Submit your e-mail at greenlightdaily.com to be entered in contest to be my corneman. Not you Wand, if requires an ability to type."
"
According to MMA Mania, Silva responded by calling Sonnen a "Twitter Fighter"
While Sonnen vs. Silva wouldn't be very entertaining today, it would have been about five years ago.
Michael Bisping
3 of 5If your surprised Uncle Chael and Michael Bisping have beef, you shouldn't be.
Two of the UFC's most outspoken personalities clashed when Bisping chimed in about Sonnen's alleged failed drug test following UFC 136, stating:
"“I think it’s complete bulls--t. Chael Sonnen, who just fought the champ, cheated and took steroids.”
"
While matters got much worse, Sonnen politely asked for an apology.
A sarcastic apology? Most certainly.
Antonio Nogueira
4 of 5Antonio Nogueira took charge when he referred to Chael Sonnen as someone who doesn't set a good example for mixed martial arts.
Nogueira stated:
""It sure would be a great fight [between us]. He's a guy everybody wants to beat. He's not a good example for the sport. He talks too much and says a lot of nonsense. He has a problem with Brazilians; he discriminates against us."
"
We know Uncle Chael was probably sitting behind his computer monitor with a huge smirk after this one.
Despite the weight difference, would Sonnen have a shot at beating Nogueira?
The Country of Brazil
5 of 5One thing's for sure: Chael Sonnen better never walk the streets of Brazil alone.
I take that back, Sonnen better never walk the streets of Brazil, period.
He's called out Lyoto Machida, Antonio Silva, etc, etc, etc.
Sonnen has gone to his Twitter and hasn't been the slightest bit hesitant in saying exactly how he feels about the country of Brazil.
Sonnen tweeted:
""Yushin and I go back to civilzation tomorrow. Thanks for everything, Brazil. It was like camping in Compton."
"Hey Anderson, stick to what your country does best; like soccer or harboring infectious disease. Oh, and tell Lyoto that I'M CALLING HIM OUT"
And finally...
"Machida is not a bad guy; he's a victim of the Brazilian education system. There are better ways to get electrolytes than drinking piss."
"
This is a whole new war Chael.
