Barcelona vs. Mallorca: Complete Preview, Start Time and Schedule

Richard LangfordOct 24, 2011

Barcelona will host Mallorca for a La Liga clash. Mallorca will have their work cut out for them in this one.

They are currently riding a three match draw streak.

Meanwhile, Barcelona also drew their last match, but they were destroying opponents before that. This will be a test to see if Barcelona is content to cruise through the mid part of the La Liga schedule or dominate it.

Where: Camp Nou in Barcelona, Spain

When: Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. EST

Watch: Sport.TV2, SuperSport 7

Player to Watch for Barcelona: Lionel Messi

Sometimes I try to think of another player to highlight here for Barcelona, but then I realize there is really never a good reason not to spend a match watching Messi.

The guy is just that good. Watch him for a match and chances are you will see something you have never seen before.

Player to Watch for Mallorca: Tomer Hemed

This 24-year-old forward is not just the center of Mallorca's offense; he is their offense. Hemed has four goals in La Liga action this year. No one else on his team has more than one.

Key Matchup: Lionel Messi vs. Dude Aouate

Mallorca keeper Aouate is going to have to have the match of his life if Mallorca is going to have a shot in this one. That might not be something the 34-year-old is capable of.

Aouate is having a decent, but certainly not spectacular campaign. He has conceded nine goals and has 30 saves in La Liga play.

What They're Saying: Barcelona could be adding even more fire power to their already stacked roster. Stefan Coerts on goal.com talks about the possibility of Neymar joining the squad.

"

Atletico Madrid midfielder Diego has stated that Santos sensation Neymar should join Barcelona rather than Real Madrid once he decides to leave Brazil.

The 19-year-old has long been linked with moves away from his current club, and both Spanish giants have been mentioned when possible destinations have been mooted.

And now Diego, who came through the ranks of the Santos youth academy, has advised Neymar to move to Camp Nou.

"For the way Barcelona play and for his development, I think they would be the best option for him," Diego was quoted as saying by ESPN.

"But he could go to Real Madrid because they always buy the best players. Neymar is a special player with qualities difficult to find. He's different.

"He is well on track and well advised. I would advise that he takes advantage of the remainder of this period to learn from, and listen to, the people who are really his friends. He is very talented and his career is going well, now he just needs to burst onto the world-stage."

"

Score Prediction: Barcelona 4, Mallorca 1
