NFL Predictions Week 8: Why Buffalo Bills Will Bounce Back

Ryan RudnanskyOct 24, 2011

The Buffalo Bills have had a week to sort out their issues after their Week 6 loss to the New York Giants, and they host the Washington Redskins in Week 8.

Both teams have had a rough stretch after sparkling starts, but it will be the Bills who come away with the victory in Week 8.

The Redskins benefited early in the season by being more prepared than other teams, in large part due to the leadership of head coach Mike Shanahan, who appeared to change the culture of a previously disappointing team.

But the Redskins still have a huge weakness at quarterback and their rush defense is beatable, giving up 4.6 yards per carry.

Rex Grossman proved to be the underwhelming quarterback we all knew he was in Week 6 when threw four interceptions against the Philadelphia Eagles. Now the Redskins have turned to John Beck. He may be better than Grossman, but he's certainly not a quarterback who is going to lead them to the promised land.

The Redskins do face a mediocre Bills defense in Week 8, but you need more than a good matchup when you're John Beck.

The Redskins create a lot of pressure, which is one of the reasons they have allowed just 19.3 points per game this season. But they are also facing the Bills' offensive line, which has given up just seven sacks all season long, the best mark in the league.

The Bills have the offense to create problems for the Redskins. They've shown they can throw the ball against anybody and running back Fred Jackson has become a superstar. The Redskins may limit the Bills, but that still doesn't mean the Bills can't outscore them.

On top of this, the Bills have gone 3-0 at home this season, scoring 103 points in the process. They have simply been electric at Ralph Wilson Stadium, beating the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles and Oakland Raiders.

I was one of a select few to say the Redskins would surprise this season, but they can only go so far with who's under center.
