Is Georges St-Pierre Officially Ducking Anderson Silva Now?

Over the recent decade, there hasn't been a more talked about fight than the possibility of seeing UFC Middleweight champion Anderson Silva and Welterweight champion, George St-Pierre square off inside the Octagon.

Silva and St-Pierre have dominated nearly every opponent that's come there way, combining for 24 consecutive fights without a loss.

Of their combined 24 straight victories, Silva and St-Pierre have total 15 consecutive successful title defenses.

As the two mixed martial arts legends have dominated their competition over the years, UFC fans began to truly make known their desires to see the two meet in a super fight.

While the fight has yet to happen, Sportsnet.ca reported St-Pierre set conditions in order for the super fight to occur.

But, all the talks of the potential super fight between Silva and St-Pierre may quickly come to pass.

According to Sherdog radio, St-Pierre's head trainer, Firas Zahabi stated St-Pierre is more likely to make the transition down to the Lightweight division rather than bumping up the 185 lb. weight class.

Zahabi told Sherdog radio,

“GSP could make 155”

“Georges is not a big welterweight, cutting to 170 is easy for him."

If St-Pierre would in fact make the drop to 155 lbs., UFC fans can forever forget about a super fight between MMA's two greatest fighters.

St-Pierre's interest in dropping to the Lightweight division leads fans to asking one question,

Is St-Pierre officially ducking Silva?

While St-Pierre isn't one to run from a fight, speculations lead us to believe he may no longer be interested in squaring off with Silva.

With only four fights remaining in Silva's career, and talks of a change in weight class for St-Pierre, the likelihood of seeing these two legends in the Octagon at the same time just went from slim to none.

So, the real question remains...
