Willis McGahee Injury: Updates on Broncos Star's Week 8 Status and Fantasy Value
The Denver Broncos couldn’t get a lucky break if they paid for one, and news broke yesterday that starting running back Willis McGahee would miss time with a fractured hand.
McGahee suffered the injury in the 18-15 overtime victory over the Miami Dolphins, and all reports are that the injury is a break in the hand that could lead to missing at least week or even more.
The positive note for the Broncos is that they got back Knowshon Moreno this week, and Tim Tebow is a pretty effective running himself.

Willis McGahee will not suit up on Sunday against Detroit after injuring his hand in Week 7. Lance Ball is expected to backup Knowshon Moreno, according to Denver Post's Lindsay H. Jones.
""Not only did the Broncos running back suffer a broken bone in his hand when he stuck it in the face mask of a Dolphins player Sunday and receive a personal foul penalty, he was fined $7,500 by the NFL for the infraction.
McGahee had surgery Tuesday to repair the broken bone, and he has been ruled out of Sunday's game against Detroit.Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ballwill share carries in McGahee's absence."

NBC's Pro Football Talk is reporting about McGahee's surgery and the timetable for his return:
"A league source tells PFT that the Broncos running back will miss 1-2 weeks after undergoing surgery to repair a broken bone in his hand. The Broncos host Detroit this week, and will have to rely on Knowshon Moreno and Lance Ball to carry the load in the backfield. It was telling that Ball received many of the carries Sunday after McGahee was hurt.
"
While Moreno and Lance Ball are now interesting looks in deeper fantasy leagues, this is all lining up for more ebow rushes and I wouldn’t be surprised to see ten called run plays for the quarterback.
South Florida Sun-Sentinel Miami Dolphins writer Omar Kelly reported on twitter about the injury from jump street:
Fantasy Gold is reporting on twitter about the impact on fantasy football this will have:
The team will know more after McGahee meets with doctors and they determine just how badly injured his hand is and if it will require surgery could bring about significant missed time.
