The Detroit Lions will have their on-field general today when Matthew Stafford takes the start in the team’s game against the Denver Broncos.
Focus will be on the matchup between Stafford and Broncos’ quarterback Tim Tebow, but Stafford has the better weapons and the better arm.
You should start Matthew Stafford with confidence every time the Lions play because as long as Calvin Johnson is there, he will get points.

It may have appeared that Matthew Stafford was in danger of missing Week 8, but in reality that wasn't the case.
Today the star quarterback was back on field with his teammates walking about with no signs of injury.
Chris McCosky tweeted even better news once practice started:
The Lions will need all of Stafford this week against the Broncos. They're two-game skid cannot become a three-game slide and without running back Jahvid Best, Stafford's arm is going to have to do the work.
As for fantasy owners, the Broncos defense offers a favorable matchup. Especially for touchdowns.

Detroit Lions beat reporter for the Detroit Free Press Dave Birkett tweeted some good news on the Matthew Stafford front Tuesday.
Things are looking up for Stafford who seems to be on track to play this weekend against the Denver Broncos. It seems he is merely sore, but I would express caution all week for fantasy owners.
These types of injuries can get inflamed at practice. Barring no setbacks, I can see Stafford putting up great numbers this coming Sunday against the Broncos.

It seems like the Lions are going to take a cautious approach during the week, but as of now Stafford is on track to play against the Broncos barring a setback.

Dave Birkett, the Lions' beat reporter for the Detroit Free Press, is expecting Stafford to play next week unless an MRI shows a more severe injury than expected.
It's good news that somebody so close to the team expects him to play early in the week. Make sure to check back as information filters in from his visit to the doctor.
