Todd Haley Hue Jackson Video: Watch Raiders Coach Jackson Call out Chiefs Haley

T.J. McaloonOct 24, 2011

Well, it certainly wasn’t the same coaching blow up that we saw two weeks ago, when San Francisco 49ers’ Head Coach Jim Harbaugh and Detroit Lions Head Coach Jim Schwartz, had their confrontation at the end of their game.

But, after the Chiefs blew out the Raiders at home, 28-0, it looked as if Raiders Head Coach, Hue Jackson, had a few choice words for the Chiefs’ Todd Haley.

Jackson would not go into detail as to what was said, as he told reporters “That’s between me and him,” Jackson said. “We get to play them again. We’ll go to Kansas City here at some point down the road.”

However, what can be drawn from this cold hand shake from Haley and the verbal sparring from Jackson, is that two coaches, from two teams that have a long and hated rivalry, almost came to blows after a game that featured a lot of “chippiness."

For example, on the first pass from Raiders new acquisition, QB Carson Palmer, Chiefs defensive tackle, Tamba Hali, hit the quarterback low, in a way that resembled Palmers’ devastating injury where he blew out his knee in a playoff game.

But, in a second consecutive week we are not talking about the game, but what happened between two coaches after the game.

The story should be about the ineffective play from Palmer, how the Chiefs are on a winning streak, or another good game from Chiefs QB Matt Cassel.

Instead it’s another week of looking into what happened in the post game handshake.

Let’s do away with the handshake altogether. It does nothing for the game and is a waste of time.

Let the coaches head off to their locker rooms, and let the game story be about the players, not the coaches.
