Chargers vs. Jets: Quentin Jammer Rightfully Sick of Referees Deciding Games
San Diego Chargers cornerback Quentin Jammer is fed up with referees making calls that decide NFL games.
Of course, he decided to speak out after a call against him helped the New York Jets eliminate the Chargers yesterday.
The defensive back went on a rant to Bart Hubbuch at the New York Post after referees decided to call two pass-interference calls against him personally and 13 total penalties on his team.

While acknowledging that those calls against him may be factoring in to his personal opinion, Jammer said of the officials’ consistency,
"Yeah -- consistently bad. No way it was called fairly. No way. Not at all. It wasn't called fairly at all. Maybe I'm being biased, but I'm just judging off what I saw. It wasn't a fair game called.
"
Jammer also noted that his team wasn’t flagged at all when they played Denver before their bye last week.
He asked how that was possible.
Pretty simply, the Chargers were rusty coming off that bye and weren’t disciplined, as they had to travel across the country to New Jersey to play an early game.
I can understand why Jammer is angry, though. Late in the game, the zebras threw some laundry on the field on a questionable contact call against him when he tried to cover Santonio Holmes on 3rd-and-3.
The Jets gained 20 yards on the blunder, setting up a field goal and running the clock near down to zero, which would prove to be all they needed to win.
Jammer was pretty upset about it and pointed out that this officiating is undermining the fundamentals of the game.
"I mean, football is a contact sport. There's going to be contact. Receivers make contact and corners make contact, so at some point you've just got to let us play.
"
I can’t say I disagree, and it seems like PI calls are getting more and more ridiculous.
Teams like the Jets consistently work the referees looking for these calls, and last year, they won a game against the Broncos by baiting a PI penalty.
I hope the NFL re-evaluates and gets more consistency from their officials on a game-to-game basis.
Jammer has a point. The officiating this season has been nothing but consistently bad.
