Tim Tebow's Comeback Victory Will Motivate Denver Broncos to Be Better

Eric BowmanOct 24, 2011

Tim Tebow's improbable comeback victory on Sunday was an amazing spectacle to watch, and there is no doubt it will inspire his teammates to play better the rest of the season.

Despite playing horrible for the majority of the game, Tebow turned into a different player in the final minutes, and the Denver Broncos came back from being down 15 points to the Miami Dolphins

The Broncos eventually won the game 18-15 in overtime, thanks to a 52-yard field goal from Matt Prater. Denver is now 2-4 on the season with 10 games remaining on the schedule.

However, the story of Sunday's matchup was all about Tebow and the way he rallied the troops. It was his first start of the year, and it's clear he's going to be Denver's quarterback for the rest of the season.

Even when Tebow was 4-of-14 with 40 passing yards and the Broncos were 0-of-10 on third down, head coach John Fox stuck with Tebow.

Fox had plenty of opportunities to pull Tebow and put Kyle Orton in, but it's almost as if he never even thought about it. After all, this is what the Bronco nation begged and pleaded for, and for a good portion of the game it was very ugly.

After the game, Tebow told reporters, "It was my fault we were in that position. Silly things kept happening. On the sidelines, we were still believing. We wanted it, and they believed in me for more than 60 minutes."

Denver certainly did, and it paid off in the end.

ESPN's Adam Schefter points out a great fact regarding the Broncos victory.

It was an amazing comeback, especially since most had ruled the Broncos out late in the fourth quarter. Once Denver scored its first touchdown of the game, there was still little time left and few believed the Broncos could pull it off.

The Broncos then picked up the onside kick and fate took over.

Denver will now have to host the Detroit Lions before a rough November. The Broncos take on the Oakland Raiders, Kansas City Chiefs, New York Jets and San Diego Chargers in the next month.

That is a tough four weeks to go through, but the Broncos will be a much better team because of their most recent win.

Sure, it was only over the winless Miami Dolphins and the Broncos needed an onside kick and overtime to win the game, but unbelievable comebacks like that can be the turning point for a team.

The Broncos may not win a whole lot of games this season, but there's no denying they will start playing better football.

Tebow motivates this team to be its best, and the way he played when the game was on the line proves to his teammates that winning is everything. That will bring out the best in the Broncos, and they will be competitive the rest of the season.

He may not be the best QB out there, but Tebow pumps up his team. His late heroics on Sunday gave Denver what it has been lacking for quite sometime: a leader. And that is why the Broncos will start to look like a completely different team.
