NFL Power Rankings Week 8: Who Are League's Most Overrated Teams?

John RozumOct 24, 2011

Week 7 of the NFL season revealed a little more than most weeks, including the identity of more teams. Unfortunately for some, however, their records are not all that impressive despite being in the playoff hunt.

We're almost to the halfway point, and the following three teams have yet to really show us anything. That said, here are this week's most overrated teams.

San Diego Chargers (4-2)

The Chargers' best win came at home over the now 3-3 Kansas City Chiefs, whereas their other three wins came against franchises combining for a 4-16 record. Both losses have come on the road, but none of their wins have been impressive.

This week San Diego travels to Kansas City and plays the Chiefs who have run off three straight wins. If the Bolts fall one more time, the AFC West only becomes that much more chaotic.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (4-3)

Apparently the Bucs don't like being consistent from week to week, because after beating the Saints at home, winning over the Bears should have been much easier. Nonetheless, Tampa proved that they have no clue how to win away from home (Minnesota doesn't hold any weight as they're 1-6).

If the Bucs want to impress anyone, multiple opportunities await as six of their final nine games are on the road. But don't be surprised if they fail, because the Falcons and Saints are eager to avenge their losses to Tampa, and the Packers await along with two games against Carolina.

New York Jets (4-3)

Now to stick with the homesick theory, the New York Jets one-up Tampa Bay in this area. Rex Ryan may be 4-3, but all four wins have come at home while all three losses were on the road.

The Chargers are the only team with a winning record that the Jets have defeated, and they're trending downward. And the remaining schedule doesn't play to their favor either, because after the bye week they travel to Buffalo and then host New England.

There's two possible losses right there, and then a night road game against a Denver team that appears to be rejuvenated. The Jets have yet to prove anything, and it's unlikely they even make the postseason.
