Oakland Raiders Were Spanked by the Kansas City Chiefs and It Isn't Feeling Good

Well, the Kansas City Chiefs must have decided it was payback time. After scoring 28-0, it seems at the end of the game the Chiefs coach had a rather strange nonverbal encounter with the Oakland Raiders coach.

It was aired on national television, so it can easily be played back to be verified. Let's just say that the Oakland Raiders were caught during a vulnerable period of their franchise history and they have become unraveled as a result of all of these unfortunate events.

Now the table has turned and it is payback time. When the Oakland Raiders play the Chiefs later this year, here's hoping the Raiders will crush that big ego of the Chiefs that appeared to be swollen up after the Oct. 23 victory in O.co Coliseum before a capacity-filled crowd.

If anything can fuel the rivalry between the Oakland Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs the game on Oct. 23 should have done so.

Early in the game, Darren McFadden was injured. Kyle Boller just couldn't get it together. Over and over again, receivers fumbled or dropped the ball.

It was a mess. It was hard to watch.

Now, don't get me wrong, I dearly love the Raiders, but today's game caused heartbreak.

Now we will forgive them, and hope that they get a lot of things straight during bye week.  Bye week in 2011 is not a vacation. It is a time for the quarterbacks and receivers to get in sync. It's time for the team to build that synergy that operates optimally to get those touchdowns and victories.

This shutout was so painful that some of us need a jigger of grape juice, kosher wine or whatever to get through the week.

The only thing that will make us feel better is to witness the Oakland Raiders have a victory after bye week.

Is that asking for too much? We don't think so since the research shows that for several years the Raiders lose the game immediately after the bye week.

This year it has got to be different. Get your act together Oakland Raiders, and give us a victory after bye week in 2011.
