Matt Ryan Injury: Update on Falcons Star's Ankle Injury
Atlanta Falcons star QB Matt Ryan suffered what could have been a nasty ankle injury in the third quarter of their game against the Detroit Lions.
As you can see in the video, Ryanโs ankle was accidently stepped on by one of his offensive lineman as he tried to move up in the pocket.
John Clayton tweeted that Ryan walked off on his own power and wasnโt noticeably limping but headed to the locker room for a brief period of time after to get his left ankle looked at.

Ryan is back out there now and seems to be fine. He immediately completed a 48-yard bomb to Harry Douglas and it does not seem like this injury is anything serious.
Fantasy Impact
Very minimal. Unless Ryan re-injures himself, he seems back to normal.
Whoโs the Backup?
Chris Redman was out there for a very brief period of time and would get snaps if Ryan were to leave again.
Devastation Scale
Ryan missed barely any time and looks 100 percent healthy out there now. I would put this injury at a one unless there is some lasting damage.
Timeline for Return
Ryan is back in action.
What Theyโre Saying
John Clayton was correct when he said that Ryan walking off on his own power was encouraging.ย
